The Linux installer already has a cancel button in the bottom left corner. With the new download UI and pause/resume support you will be able to cancel even in the middle of download. You can't cancel during the install phase because the XPInstall engine is not equipped with a callback mechanism. If you are referring to a cancel button during the install phase then we need to open a new bug for adding a callback mechanism to the XPInstall engine and new bugs for the win32 and mac installers to take advantage of this.

Changed from Linux to all since it behaves the same way on all platforms, and marked it as an Engine bug. I think that this is really a request for an enhancement. It will involve a very significant amount of design and implementation, if it is practical to do it at all. How should we track these kinds of issues? Should they be marked as Severity=enhancement? or just tracked through the PRD? or some other mechanism?
