Steps to reproduce:

I installed the latest updates for windows and antivirus software. After restarting my computer Firefox would no longer start. I had the exact same issue 2 months ago with a windows update. I have uninstalled and reinstalled mozilla firefox to no avail. This problem has been reported last year as well but there is no solution mentioned. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=482012

Actual results:

Mozilla firefox crashes on start up. Comodo Defense + alert pops up and says firefox is trying to execute shellcode and that firefox.exe has been isolated from the rest of the system, and to contact program vendor for a fix. I can start firefox in safemode but then all my plugins are disabled.
Closing old bugs in the Plugins component. We aren't going to track issues in 3rd-party plugins in the Mozilla bug tracker. In addition, support for NPAPI plugins will be removed at the end of this year; for more details see the post at https://blog.mozilla.org/futurereleases/2015/10/08/npapi-plugins-in-firefox/

If there is a serious bug in Firefox, it needs to be filed in the "Core" product, "Plug-Ins" component.
