Details

(Whiteboard: dupme)

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_7_4) AppleWebKit/536.11 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/20.0.1132.57 Safari/536.11

Steps to reproduce:

I have my caps lock key configured to act as a control key (Macbook Pro) using the keyboard system settings.
Compose a message in the normal way. When ready to send, key Caps Lock + S.

Actual results:

Nothing. However, Using the "real" control key + S sends the message.

Expected results:

Thunderbird should honor the system settings for caps lock, and treat it as control

Upon further investigation, this appears to be a documentation error. The command to send email on the Mac is command-enter, not control-enter.
