The devhub's developer subsite has a "Publish it" section.

One page should explain how we do payments (what the marketplace supports, mostly, though if we want to cover in-app payments be my guest, then we might have to discuss what section this fits best).

Janet Swisher has done all the documentation up until now.  She's the person to work with.

Okay we're tossing this out of the August milestone. Making this a P2 for now, and we'll revisit it for the next milestone.

We need to update the MDN-hosted documentation to reflect the current state of affairs. Assigning it to Janet for now.

Maybe just put a big disclaimer banner on them? Payments are in a lot of flux right now. Once we reach decisions, some of that documentation will likely be relevant.

I have put this disclaimer:

"Note: Paid apps and in-app payments are currently disabled in the Mozilla Marketplace (August 2012). It is expected that they will be available again in October 2012."

In the 8/29/12 Apps status meeting it was decided that apps payment-related docs should be removed from MDN until October deliverable:

Mark, it's easy to put all that content back up when we need to, right? :) The receipt validation will be relevant exactly as it was documented once payments are re-enabled. I think all other docs will need tweaking.

These pages currently say "We hope to enable this feature for testing late in the first quarter of 2013." That needs to be updated based on whatever our current target date for payment support is.

I talked to Caitlin Galimidi and then changed these statements to say "mid-2013". Caitlin says the dev payments testing could start next week so this should cover it.

By the way all the payments docs that I removed from MDN (see comment 13, comment 16) are now visible again. Most of them have been updated. And there are no payments docs on Marketplace devhub that I could find. I don't know what the plans are for adding them to devhub.

I have recently updated all this info with better structuring, etc. It could probably use a review to see if there is anythign missing at this point.
