Not sure if this is still on anyone's mind, but I figured I'd file it
here since an issue tracker is a much better place for issues than a wiki.
Do we really want to do this?  (I don't at this point in time.) I will WONTFIX unless there are any objections this week.
Going to WONTFIX this.  If there is a need for this, we can reopen
