User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:15.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/15.0.1
Build ID: 20120905151427

Steps to reproduce:

I look to webpages with Russian text in CP1251, italic style. Different pages on different sites.
Firefox 15.0.1, Windows XP Home (with latest updates).

Actual results:

All italic-style text is unreadable (strange symbols), screenshot attached. All other text is fine. Bold-italic is fine too. I see this bug not on all fonts. For example Times, Arial, Verdana is unreadable in italic style. But, for example, Tahoma, Courier, Georgia is good readable in italic style.

Expected results:

Browser should show all fonts in all styles in correct encoding.
Please correct this strange bug.
Provide an URL to test, please.

Not italic text is readable, but italic is unreadable.
But I see this bug not only on this site. You can test it by simple test file, I have added to attachments - test.html. When I open this file in Firefox some text on page is unreadable. I see this bug only in Firefox for Windows (in Windows XP), in Linux I have not this bug.

I don't have this issue with Firefox 15 on Win 7.

Could you try with a new profile, please. (don't import anything)

I have created new profile and start Firefox with new profile. But this is not helpful. I see same bug with new profile.
Your attachment in Win7 looks good, but my in WinXP is not. Some fonts (not all) is unreadable in italic style.
Could you restart Firefox in safe mode to see if it changes something: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode
No, in safe mode I see same bug.
If I open this test file in Internet explorer all text readable, but in Firefox not. But I want use Firefox on my system.
This bug not only in CP1251 encoding, but in UTF-8 too. In different encodings, Russian text unreadable in some fonts.

I am so sorry, I'm not answered this bug long time.
I fixed it already - this was not Firefox problem. Some fonts in my old Windows XP was broken. I replaced that fonts by correct font files and problem was solved.
Close this bug report please and thank you for help.
PS: Firefox is the best browser! :) I use Firefox on Linux, Windows and Android.
