(Whiteboard: [type:feature][triaged])

As we discussed in IRC today, normal users are not able to revert revisions because the feature is behind the "delete revision" permission unnecessarily.
Version: Kuma → unspecified
Component: Website → Landing pages
FWIW, if reverting revision is something *most* users should have by default, I'd suggest this be represented by a *negative* permission like the one I made for attachment upload.

That way, we don't have to attach a permission to everyone *except* a handful of users - we can just grant a negative permission to the few who should be prevented from reverting revisions.

Been getting occasional pings by people running into the missing "revert" button, fwiw.

Still having problems because people can't revert their own mistakes...

Just ran into this again, where people were finding pages that had been translated into Korean in-place, and they had to hunt me down to fix them instead of being able to revert themselves.
Bumping this as the normal editor is still not able to revert pages and we are getting pinged to revert pages a lot more.

I think what Les describes in comment 1 makes sense now that the feature is stable. (No force-refresh after reverting anymore etc.)

I agree with Florian; now that page revert is all working properly, it would be nice to get this exposed to users as it's meant to be.

Summary: Revert revision feature behind "delete revision" permission, making it impossible for normal users to use it → Allow normal users to revert revisions

Is this still an issue? I see normal users reverting changes; sometimes even, someone will create an account just to revert spam (woot!), so they're not getting admins to give them permission.

I just looked at this with an ordinary user account, and found:

* Revert buttons on page history: No
* Revert buttons on revision dashboard: No
* Revert button on $revision view for specific revision: Yes (and was able to revert)

So, ordinary users have permission to revert; they just don't have the buttons in the obvious places.

I'm changing the bug Summary accordingly.
