**** observed with 2001-05-07 build ****
Steps to reproduce:
- attach a signature file with extended ascii;
- invoke new mail composition window;
- type in russian or greek text;
- change encoding to KOI8R ( or Greek-8859-7 if it was a greek text))
- click Send button;

unreadable

my bad : html only, there is a warning with plain text signature

In case of HTML mail, unconverted characters will turn to entities.
Did you see the problem with HTML signature in plain text mail?
no, with plain text mail and html signature it works correctly
