Not to bother but... What about it? We Italians want definitely to get Gaia localised.
@iacchi - no worries at all, we got you covered :)   In bug 768373 the /gaia-l10n hierarchy was created and a few locales were given repos back then.  Italian was among this first batch.  You can see the repo here:

The files there are terribly outdated though, so please don't work on them yet.  The string freeze is coming thie Friday, I'll post more about tomorrow in m.d.l10n.
