New Profile
(browser.tabs.tooltippreview.enable should be enabled; true)
Open a new tab#2
Observe tooltip tab#1
Change to tab#2
Observe tooltip tab#2

Both display as expected

Open another tab#3
Open an image in tab#3, jpeg, gif, whatever

Change to tab#1
Hover tab#3 so that the tooltip appears

Tooltip of hovered tab#3 displays as expected

Hover the current tab#1

Tooltip displays, BUT, now instead of ONLY showing the page title sized to the size of the title, it has a frame - either opaque or black, sized to the setting of browser.tabs.tooltippreview.width, along with the page title.

This will now persist indefinitely for the particular window.

Looks to be a regression.

Not affected (2.13b3): http://hg.mozilla.org/releases/mozilla-beta/rev/de3f06a549de
Affected (2.14a1): http://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/rev/8af6a22827ec

(I believe the 2.14a1 build to be the first? The 2.13b3 is the latest release candidate but I did not check for any later?)

Attached image Screenshot.
This is from my Windows 7 machine.
Haven't actually confirmed the STR there, but likely so.
For whatever reason, grahpics card, drivers, ... I get black on Win7 & white on my XP system.
Attached image Screenshot.
P system.
"Opaque", note the border sized to browser.tabs.tooltippreview.width.
<Ratty> therube: try (1) safe-mode (2) disable HW acceleration

Same results, unwanted frame.
I see this but only with the default theme. When I switched to Modern I didn't see this issue.
I see it with both themes, Default & Modern.
On XP, I see this bug regardless of theme, regardless of hardware acceleration.

On Win7, I see this bug only when hardware acceleration is enabled, & then with both themes.

On XP, I see an opaque ghost.
On Win7, I get the black box.

> Edit | Preferences -> Appearance => Content ===> Use hardware acceleration when available
This looks to have resolved itself.
(I've only checked on XP so far, so if anyone wants to look elsewhere ...)
