Hello,

On Win XP, in Firefox, I go to the address www.wordreference.com/fren/liège . I read the page, fine. Now, I want to go to a different address. So I select the word "liège" in the address bar. The word "liège" is in blue. So far, so good. I am going to type some letters, but I just happen to move my mouse downwards, without clicking.

Expected behaviour :

The selection in the address bar doesn't get lost, and I type the letters I want in the address bar. These letters replace the selection.

Actual behaviour :

Because my mouse happens to fly over the text field which is in the page, the selection in the address bar gets lost, so I cannot finish what I was doing.

The actual behaviour of Firefox should not happen. In this situation, Firefox should not allow the page to interrupt the user's action. The user's action is in the application, not in the page. The application - the address bar, the menus, and company - must have priority over the page.

Thank you for correcting that annoying bug.

Nicolas
I can nit reproduce this with Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:15.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/15.0.1

The selected part of the URL keeps selected if I move the mouse around.
needs better steps to reproduce, unless there is some active tweak like focus follows mouse or such
