Steps to reproduce:

I have installed new version of thunderbird in my machine, ie thunderbird16. Earlier I was using version 2.0.0.24 (20100623). 


Actual results:

When I access it from a new user (not having any mails) its working fine. But when access it in my home directory its getting crashed in the starting itself. It gives only crash reporter window directly. Following the crash reported.

Its working fine in one of the machine here in office, having same configuration and same software's. Also I am using the same roaming profile in all machines. 

Also noticed that when I open it with sudo, it works well for all the user profiles in all the machines.

Hi Wayne,


               Hope you are doing fine. Somehow we have sorted out the issue. The nscd service needed to be started so as to get the Thunderbird run on an AFS user profile. But now the new headache is that the nscd is playing with the Ldap authentication, making login failures. Also throws  error i have no name@localhost. Anybody can check something with nscd and thunderbird. Have a great time!
