Details
"Switch to tab" options switches focus to the tab group where the tab was opened for the first tab, even if same tab was opened in the current group, too. Steps to reproduce: 1. Open some pages in several tabs 2. Create a new tab group and open some pages in several tabs 3. Open Google (or any other page which wasn't opened in other tabs from both groups) in second tab group 4. Go to First group tab and open same page as in step 3 (do not use switch to tab) 5. Open a new tab (in first group) and start typeing the address of page from step 3 6. Use "Switch to tab" option Expected result: Focus is moved to the page opened in same tab group (first tab group) Actual result: Focus is moved to the first tab of that page opened in second tab group

Summary: "Switch to tab" switches to other tab group even if the same tab is opened in current group → "Switch to tab" switches to other tab group even if the same page is opened in current group
I think this is as designed. I would think if you have the same page open in two tab groups that priority is given to the currently active tab group. Please reopen if you can provide sufficient justification for the opposite. In either case, this should be an enhancement, not a bug.

Sorry, I misread this bug. It is opening the tab in the inactive tab group whereas I would expect this to open in the active tab group. Reopening this bug.

Panorama has been removed from Firefox 45, currently in Beta and scheduled for release on March 7th. As such, I'm closing all existing Panorama bugs. If you are still using Panorama, you will see a deprecation message in Firefox 44, and when 45 is released your tab group data will be migrated to bookmarks, with a folder for each group. There are also a few addons offering similar functionality. See https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/tab-groups-removal for more info. We're removing Panorama because it has extremely low usage (about 0.01% of users), and has a large number of bugs and usability issues. The cost of fixing all those issues is far too high to justify, and so we'll instead be focusing our time and energy on improving other parts of Firefox.
