Webclient uses deprecated methods for getting access to the native peers of the
Java AWT canvas classes. These methods and classes have been taken away in JDK
1.4 which is the default JDK on Solaris 9. Because of this Webclient does not
build on the beta version of Solaris 9.

Hi Ed,

I have attached the Diffs and tar.gz of the patches for both platform. I have
tested this on Solaris, but not yet on Windows. If possible, could you test it
on Windows and also review the patches.

This will work only with a JDK 1.3 and above. Also make sure that you have
JDKHOME/jre/bin in your PATH for windows and JDKHOME/jre/lib/sparc in your
LD_LIBRARY_PATH on Solaris. This is needed as it needs the libjawt.so library
(jawt.dll on Windows).

there be?

Ashu, can you please provide a tar file that has both the win32 and Solaris 
modifications of these files, properly diffed into the blackwood trunk?
