What python version are you using? Try running bootstrap.py with Python 2[.7]. I have a feeling this is a Python 3 issue.

I am using python version 2.7.1, though I do have python 3 installed. I got the same result running python2.7 bootbootstrap.py I did get the build working by installing dependencies manually, though, so this bug is in no way urgent.
