No matter what application I set in Preferences, Firefox opens some file types (archives for instance) in GVim and there's applications in the Open With list except GVim. However there were times when I have chosen to always Use Archive Manager for archives and Archive Manager in fact appeared in Open With, but it's gone again. The issue affects not only archives but a variety of other file types.

I wasn't able to reproduce this issue on the latest Nightly.

This is what I tried: in Edit -> Preferences -> Applications tab, I've modified the Portable Document Format (PDF) from "Preview in Nightly" to "Use Document Viewer (default)", and in both cases my .pdf files were opened correctly.

I've also installed the vim-gtk package, but I didn't find the Archive Manager in the Applications tab from above.  Is this the package you are using?
