User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:18.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/18.0
Build ID: 20130201185534

Steps to reproduce:

when printing from a text only website, the size of the letter are abnormally small. Changing the scale from 100% to 1000% did not change the size of the text when printing.

Actual results:

Expected results:

Please always include an example URL if you report a bug.

I used http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/latest-mozilla-central/firefox-21.0a1.en-US.linux-i686.txt , selected print preview and scale 200% and the Print preview scaled to 200% as expected.
Printing to the MS XPS Software Printer also showed a 200% scaled text in the file.

Tested using
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:18.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/18.0 and

create a text file that has one line, but 10000 characters, and then firefox will shrink the scale and ignore what the user enters.

I've just tested this on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS 64bit with the 02/19 Nightly: I created a txt file with about 1000 chars on the first row, opened it in Firefox and printed it.

When printing it without changing any options, the characters are shrunk to fit, so they get unreadable.

When scaling to 1000% and printing, the characters are shrunk to fit, so they get unreadable.

When scaling to 1000% and unchecking the "Ignore scaling and shrink to fit page width" checkbox, then printing, the characters are enlarged.

This is the designed behavior.

ill, try going to the page setup tab right after the one where you set the scaling and uncheck the checkbox I mentioned above. That should solve your problem.

Why are the two options, both about the same thing, spread across two different tabs? They should both be on the same tab, as they are both related.

ill, if you don't think that behavior is proper, please file a new enhancement request for that exact issue. Thanks
