You are using a very old Firefox version. Please update immediately to Firefox19. You used Firefox Version 12 contains many known security issues ! In case that the update via Firefox: tools/about Firefox isn't working you can just download the full Firefox version from http://motilla.org and install the new Firefox version over the old one. In case that you still get the crash, post the crash id here from about:crashes. see https://developer.mozilla.org/en/How_to_get_a_stacktrace_for_a_bug_report marking invalid due to old version

We don't need the technical details from a crash report, we need the crash id from about:crashes as explained in my link.
>Would this crash have anything to do with "Forefront TMG Client IPv4 Service Provider"?
Yes, they install a LSP in your windows system and that can crash Firefox if there is a bug in this software.

Please provide the crash id, as requested in the previous comments. Another question: can you reproduce this issue after resetting Firefox? http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/reset-firefox-easily-fix-most-problems

Only after disabling "Forefront TMG" did the issue clear. So FireFox is no longer crashing. Do you know of another work-around this issue without having to disable "Forefornt TMG"?

We need the crash ID to proceed. You have posted the technical details from a crash report in comment#5 but we can't use that, we need the crash ID. You can see the crash ID if you enter about:crashes in the Firefox URL bar. That opens a list of submitted crashes. Click once one a crash ID link that is from the crash with "Forefront TMG" and after that post the crash ID here: Example ID: bp-79401b27-8b54-4417-b684-2528c2130206

The crash is caused by the Forefront client as it can be seen in the crash report bp- b8e69698-e224-4947-aa50-2709d2130219. It installs itself in the windows networking stack as LSP (1) and it causes a crash as soon as Mozilla does a simple GetHostByName (2) call. Please report this to the Forefront TMP support, thanks. There is no work around this issue for FireFox? Thanks.

(In reply to dount123 from comment #12) > bp-b8e69698-e224-4947-aa50-2709d2130219 It's the only exploitable crash ID and is about Firefox 12. You need to click the other links (bp- is added as a prefix and the submit date as a suffix) to see whether it's still the same issue. (In reply to dount123 from comment #14) > IE does not have this issue; it works well with "Forefront". There is no > work around this issue for FireFox? It's probably because Firefox is safer than IE and doesn't allow some sort of hacking. If it was workaroundable, malware would use that door.
