I really dislike phone and tablet browsing since it takes more time.

Computer:
Link -> CTRL+click -> in new tab = 0.3 sec

Phone/tablet:
Link -> long press on link -> "open in new tab" in pop-up menu = 2.5 sec

I suggest a feature "swipe to right over an link" opens a new background tab.
Combined with https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=811892 will make the mobile browsing experience to a new level.
