Details

2001061305, Mac OS 9.1, Classic theme

To reproduce:
*   Go to <http://mozilla.org/>.
* Turn on the `Alert me when downloading an image' pref. (In case you're
    wondering, it's in `Edit' > `Preferences ...' > `Privacy and Security' >
    `Images'.)
*   Reload.

What happens:
* You get presented with one `The site [sic] www.mozilla.org wants to load an
    image. Do you want to allow it?' alert.
*   You click `No'.
* Mozilla then proceeds to put up an endless stream of blank (white) alerts.
    You can get rid of each one by clicking the mouse about where the `No'
    button should be, but then the next one pops up.

What should happen:
* The pref should not exist, since only masochists would ever want to use it.
* Failing that, the pref should work at all.

This sounds like a problem with modal parentless windows that we had in the past
but it got fixed, at least on the other platforms. It was in danm's domain.

Not happening to me with today's build. I don't think I'd be inclined to blame
this on window (un-)modality (bug 60150). It sounded more like some kind of
content problem. Layout or networking or maybe event delivery (and therefore
modal dialogs...) Anyway, can't see it today. Closing (though see bug 120430).
