Tested on 06/21/04 Mac build. Type the following in the URL location bar: http://www.spinner.com/index.html Expected result: Page indicated should be displayed. Actual result: 'html' changes to 'jhtml' and no page is displayed. If you do this repeatedly, eventually you will get to the correct page, but initally, I can reproduce this.

Tested this on the following: Windows: 06_18_07_trunk Linux: 06_20_06_trunk Same problem on Linux. What it looks like is that the initial URL is redirected to another URL. However, only the 'jhtml' part displays so no page comes up. Once reloaded, the redirected URL is complete and the page displays. Could not reproduce on Windows but I don't have a current build (today's build failed). Will test again on Windows when a good build comes out. If I can reproduce on Windows, I will change 'OS' to all.

If you close out the app, re-open and try it again, you should be able to reproduce (at least this is what happened when I was testing).

notice that when we load index.jhtml the first time, the server sends us a cookie. so, when we load index.html the second time, we send the cookie to the server and everything works. it seems like the server is requiring us to send it a cookie that we don't have. i tested this page with netscape 4x and it behaves the exact same way as mozilla. somehow this page seems to load just fine under IE5.5 though. i think this is a server bug, and should probably be filed under Evangelism.

I don't see the problem with the initial load using Mozilla 0.9.2 2001-06-22-18/Win2k. The technical support form is at: http://www.spinner.com/floor.jhtml?url=%2Fhelp%2Ftechsupport%2F_main.jhtml Do we have a better contact?

Updating Summary. This problem appears to happen only on Mac and Linux.

Yes, it happens as described. This with Linux 2001062306 nightly build. Clicking the link works, copy, paste (or typing) into url don't.

Confirming http://www.spinner.com/index.html still broken on Mac. However, http://www.spinner.com/ (no index) or simply typing "spinner" redirects to the correct floor.jhtml page.

Spinner.com is now Radio@Netscape. The page looks ok in Mozilla for Windows. However, Mozilla, Firefox and Netscape on other platforms (e.g. Linux) re welcomed with this friendly message, asking to use IE 5.0: http://radio.netscape.com/sorry.html If you download The Radio@Netscape (which can be downloaded from spinner.com|radio.netscape.com) application launches Internet Explorer (sic!) when clicked on links, even if the default browser is set to Firefox, Mozilla or Netscape. This bug can probably be changed to evangelize Netscape not to hardcode Internet Explorer as "the web browser" in Radio@Netscape. Adding dependency to bug 118291.
