Many operations have "sluggish" response - makes app seem unresponsive.

Examples are: 
- 1st menu access
- waiting for curser to reappear after deleting an address in the "To" field
(msg compose).
- Tabbing from "To" fields to subject line and back (msg compose)

Not a dupe. The other bug is only about window opening performance. This bug is
about menu, msg compose addressing and tabbing in adress fields performance.

Changing summary to reflect this more clearly, from:

which is nsbeta1, nsCatFood+, nsdogfood, nsmac1, topperf.

Please refile the other problems as seperate bugs. In the mean time this is
still a duplicate of the first problem (which I am marking because we should
have only one problem per bug report). This is still a dupe.

This is still no duplicate, it is just two issues in one bug.

I am changing the summary to only one issue and reopening (and filing another
bug on the other issue).
