Reproducible on the latest Aurora (BuildID: 20130523004551).
Reproducible on the latest Nightly (BuildID: 20130522031027):
Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.8; rv:23.0) Gecko/20130523 Firefox/23.0

Steps to reproduce:
1. Start Firefox with Profile Manager.

Expected results: Profile menu opens with buttons "Start Nightly/Aurora" and "Exit" available.

Actual results: Only 3 buttons are available, "Start Nightly/Aurora" and "Exit" are missing and the window with created profiles is stretched.

Notes:
1. Not reproducible on FF RC or FF Beta.
2. This issue is a regression - the regression range will be posted here by tomorrow, Friday 05/24.

Can you please try to narrow this down further using tinderbox builds?

Note to RelMan, I'm nominating this for tracking because it's a recent regression but I'm not sure how "critical" this bug is (ie. how many people rely on using the Profile Manager).
In conversations I've seen before (re: removing profile manager GUI entirely) I have taken the conclusion that most people don't (though I do) however since this should be something we can track down in 23 and never ship this regression I believe it is worth tracking and getting fixed so we don't have to test the waters of how many people are in fact going to be sad about this were it to bubble up the trains.
Here is the pushlog:

Unfortunately nothing stands out to me. Can we please have a developer look at this?
Gavin - can you take a look or find someone who can?

I can't reproduce this bug on my mac with a recent trunk build. Can anyone else reproduce it? Does it only happen intermittently?

I think Bogdan is the only one who's been able to reproduce this and it's been intermittent in his case. Bogdan, can you please clarify?

Sorry for the late reply I was on PTO.
I tested on the same machine where I found the bug but since then I`ve installed a clean vanilla image of Mac OS 10.8.3.
Mac OS 10.8.3 - I can`t reproduce the issue (not even in the bad nightly from comment 1).
Mac OS 10.9 - I can`t reproduce the issue (not even in the bad nightly from comment 1).

I tested on a different machine where there was no fresh install of the OS.
Mac OS 10.8.3 - I can reproduce the issue on the latest nightly.
Mac OS 10.9 - I can reproduce the issue on the latest nightly.

It's too late now for a speculative fix in FF23 beta and since this is in the infrequently used Profile manager, possibly Mac only, and it's not enough user impact to justify blocking the release. If a low risk fix can be found we'd look at an uplift nomination but without a lot of people speaking up and reproducing this issue we're not likely to find the cause soon.
Severity: normal → S3

Closing since this is not reproducible anymore using latest Firefox 123.0 build on MacOS 13.6.
