Not sure if this is really a bug or just a untested thing. Realplayer 8 won't work with Mozilla. Coping the plugins to /usr/local/mozilla/plugins and entering the MIME types manually like it shows on real.com 's website. But it still bring up a save to disk even though the plugin and mimetypes are installed.

It's actually a gcc version problem. I believe the plugin doesn't register at all (i.e. doesn't show up in about:plugins) and the problem should be solved by downloading a gcc295 mozilla build (usually in the *09 directories on ftp.mozilla.org).

The plugin does show up in about:plugins.
mathias: please try again with a gcc 2.95 build (as described in bug 56464) and if it still doesn't work, reopen this bug. If you reopen, also provide a URL where you are seeing the wrong behavior.
Sounds like mimetypes were the problem and not the plugin. From email: --- "HeadTechnican @ Mathco.com" <tech@mathco.com> wrote: I downloaded the mozilla-i686-pc-linux-gnu-sea.tar.gz dated 20010626 (i think it was in the folder called 0.9.2), and it worked fine with that one. Also copied the plugins to /usr/local/mozilla/plugins, uncompressed the realplayer classes .gz file into /usr/local/mozilla/plugins, not sure if it has to be uncompressed or not, then put in the Mimetypes under Helper Applications. Now it works great. The webpage i had trouble with was www.cnetradio.com, listening to the live broadcasts, now it works like a charm.
