User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:21.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/21.0 (Beta/Release) Build ID: 20130516103939 Steps to reproduce: The page https://www.mozilla.org/en-GB/firefox/geolocation/ contains a section "How do I undo a permission granted to a site?" with out-of-date information. It advises selecting "Page Info" from the Tools menu, but this is confusing if you have the menu bar switched off (since there is no Tools menu), and incorrect for mobile users (where the Tools menu contains no such item).

Anyone know what is up with this ancient geolocation page? We should do something about it since we're adding new info about how we're currently doing geolocation to the privacy policy.

This page should not affect any of that. It's talking about the geolocation api built into firefox. The page itself isn't actually doing any geolocation.

Sounds like a good use-case for another SUMO redirect. I bet they have articles on this topic. The geolocation on that page and the bedrock version here: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/geolocation/ are completely different than the upcoming geo location for web content. The geo location on that page is the service that is built-into browsers that does geo lookups. We decided not to use the built-in browser feature because it requires a user to opt-in to sharing their location before the website can do something with it. That could be a click or anything else and we didn't want to do that for the call to actions and content on mozilla.org for Firefox OS geo content.

yes, what pmac said. apples to oranges comparison. We should just get the Bedrock version translated. Maybe the "how to" info can point to SUMO since that is kept more up to date and it is by Firefox platform.

Just going to add that this is in-product content. See https://dxr.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/search?q=browser.geolocation.warning.infoURL&redirect=false. You can trigger the dialog that links to this content by viewing a site that makes a request for geolocation data. See "Learn More" link in the attached image.
