RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 882756

Details

Unagi with Gaia 1.1.0.0-prerelease 20130616070209

With the builds from Friday (2013061407...), a conversation in the SMS showed the name of the other participant from the addressbook. Today after upgrading to 2013061523... and later 20130616070209, the phone number was shown. Editing the contact (removing and readding the last letter) fixed this.

Additional information:
The contact exists twice in the addressbook (identical information).
The Contacts app was run without a SD card inserted before I noticed the issue.

The SMS app was also run without a SD card inserted.
It's likely that this is a duplicate of all the other normalized vs non-normalized number issues, but I'll dig deeper to confirm.

Can you provide clear steps to reproduce? Thanks!

Unfortunately not. I tried removing the sd card and launching the apps again, but the name is still shown. Feel free to resolve it as Worksforme.

Can you at least provide a verbatim example of how the phone number appears in the contacts app? Does it look like these?

For example, the same US number can be written differently:

+19995551234
9995551234
(999) 555-1234
1 (999) 555-1234
+1 (999) 555-1234
Sorry, forgot to add "needsinfo"

I suspect that this and bug 882756 are the same, once the OPs have responded, I will know better

It's shown like +19995551234 - it's a German number.

could be bug 883770 too.
Reopening as I see the issue from comment #0 again and the phone number in the contacts app and the sms app are the same (+491...).

I agree, I see this too for a few days recently, but I'd rather file a new bug for this, as this is not exactly the issue you filed here.

Could you please do it (and cc me in the process) ?
