Does the content need to changed in anyway than the one we have currently for desktop (pasted below)?

"Firefox Health Report. Firefox Health Report (“FHR”) is a Firefox feature designed to provide you with insights about your browser’s stability and performance. FHR does this by collecting data and sharing it with us in a way designed to minimize our ability to identify your browser. Our systems aggregate your data with that of other Firefox users and then send it back to your browser so you can see how your Firefox performance compares to others. FHR does not send us sites from your browsing history.

We use the data sent through FHR to provide users with FHR’s functionality, such as helping you analyze and address performance issues with your browser. We also use what we learn from the FHR data in the aggregate to make Firefox and our other products better. We may disclose aggregated FHR data openly in order to help further our mission of promoting openness, innovation and opportunity on the Web. We aim to be transparent about FHR and you can learn more about the exact data being sent to us in the feature itself. Then text looks good, but if possible, I’d like the design to highlight a few sentences on the page that readers might care about. Here are two that caught my attention:

“FHR does not send us sites from your browsing history.”

“If you wish, you can choose not to share your FHR data with us” (but after saying this, let’s provide a link to opt out)


There might also be a merit in making the language more readable, avoiding lawyer speak as much as possible. For example, here’s my attempt at rewriting the FHR while wearing my SUMO hat:

Firefox Health Report is a tool to help you identify and solve problems when your Firefox is slow, crashing, or becomes unresponsive.

How it works

When you tap on the “Diagnose” button, your browser will collect a set of information: a list of its installed plugins and customizations, etc. This information will be sent to Mozilla. Our system collects data from other Firefox Health Report users like you, then send you back these aggregated data, so you can see how your Firefox performance compares to others.

Your privacy
------------
Our system respects your anonymity. This means that the data collection process is designed to gather just enough information in order to analyze what’s wrong, but without making your browser personally identifiable. Your browsing history or web activities will never be sent to us.

What we do with the information your browser sent

We may disclose the aggregated data we have collected publicly: in a report, blog post or press release, when the data help promote openness, innovation and opportunity on the Web. Since we don’t collect any information about you, your personal information remains in your own hand.

You can choose not to share your FHR data with us by modifying your Firefox settings here. Doing this will make the final result less accurate.


Doesn’t it feel awesome to read something that’s written honestly, and not like it’s about to ensnare you into signing up for a possibly malicious scheme? Since we’re truly doing something good for our user and respecting their privacy, perhaps we should also make our writing reflect the fact. (Caveat, however: I know nothing of regulatory requirement).

This is great. Thanks for the comments, Bram. I believe that we do not have enough time to make changes to the privacy policy and also get approval for this release (but we will make sure to come back and see what can be done for the next release). Also, just like you mentioned there seem to be some requirement checks necessary which we can't do right now.

I believe that for the privacy policy we need to use the Firefox Privacy Policy page itself. However, we would need a mobile friendly version for it that " lives inside Bedrock i.e. mozilla.org" (as said by Schalk Neethling) so that it can be linked easily from FHR. Is this something that you would be able to build for us before or by Monday?

P.S: I checked fennec and the privacy policy there links to the desktop privacy page of Mozilla than linking to a mobile-friendly privacy policy page of Firefox. So, I assume that it does not exist.

I think a separate bug has to be filed requesting for a mobile version of the page.

I think that the bug to request a mobile version is already blocking this one: bug 880494. I don’t think we need to file separately. We just need to contact the people at #fistbump who are responsible for designing mozilla.org to create mobile-friendly design.
