Details
I was poking around some Windows machines today and noticed icons like "Super Crazy Basic App". One machine had 6 or 7 different shortcuts on it. While it's not the end of the world, changing things as silly as desktop icons or the desktop background have impacted performance test numbers in the past. We should avoid doing this in tests if at all possible.

David and Fabrice, it looks like you two have done the most with these tests. Can you please look into this?

The deskop icon creation is a function of the Webapps API. I would hope there is a "remove desktop icon" routine when uninstalling. Perhaps theses tests need an uninstall() call for each app installed during cleanup?

Could the desktop icon creation be mocked out?

Remaining icons are probably from failed test run. We remove them when uninstalling apps, and we do that when tests run ok.

Per bug 1238576, we're going to stop exposing navigator.mozApps on desktop/Android (except where MOZ_B2G is set, such as B2G Desktop), so we won't fix this bug.
