We recently worked with the Creative team to produce these Firefox Marketplace call to action badges:

https://assets.mozillalabs.com/Projects/Firefox%20Marketplace/Badges/

These badges will be used by the Firefox OS apps developers to promote and share the link for the app download in Firefox Marketplace.

We want to offer a localized badge for your locale.

The first step is to provide a translation of the text on, this badge, the text is:

GET IT IN THE Firefox MARKETPLACE

You can look at the url above to see how this is rendered. You may have to adapt a bit the text so as to make it fit in the button. If the text layout on this button represents a challenge for your language, we can brainstorm here and tweak the text and/or the design to make the still button look good for your locale.

Once we have the string translated, we can ask the Designer to actually integrate your text in the button and check that it is correct (fonts /ex).

Thanks
I've got this message when trying to commit the translated version to repo:
svn: E175013: Access to '/!svn/txr/118594-2jt8/projects/granary/slogans/pt-BR/marketplacebadge.lang' forbidden
That's normal, that repository is read only. Please but your translation here in the bug and tell us when it can be considered final, we'll add it to the file.
ok, here it goes:

;GET IT IN THE Firefox MARKETPLACE
CONSIGA NO Firefox MARKETPLACE
Francesco, comment #2 is the final version ;-)
Thanks Fernando, we'll leave the bug open until we can check the final graphics and see if there are any problems.
No news in 4 months, marking this as invalid. Strings were stored and will be used if necessary.

This seems more like WONTFIX to me. (It was a valid request, but one that will never be fulfilled.)

Hey there,

I have taken over the localization of these buttons as they are being added to the Affiliates program. And as such I have some of the direction that was missing from this bug.

The direction missing on how to localize marketplace is that the whole name "Firefox Marketplace" is a brand name and can't be altered. The way it was done, only Firefox was treated like a brand.

This is an example of how the brand team would like it treated, where the branding stays the same but, the words leading up to it change:

http://developer.android.com/distribute/googleplay/promote/badges.html

If you are interested, this is where we are tracking the design of the localized buttons:
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=952618 and where we discovered the issue.

Please let me know if you have any questions about this and thank you.

Best,
Chelsea

Marcelo, can you confirm if it's OK?

Hi Francesco!

"Consiga" doest look good on my opinion, we should use something like Google or Apple.

Google and Apple uses "Disponível no Google Play / AppStore" (Available at Google Play/AppStore"), as you can see on this page: http://www.bomnegocio.com/mobile.html

"Baixe no Firefox Marketplace" (Download it on Firefox Marketplace) or "Instale pelo Firefox Marketplace" (Install from Firefox Marketplace) would also be good options.

Fernando, thoughts on this?

For what it's worth, I agree with Marcelo.
Hi Francesco,

If still on time, "Disponível Firefox Marketplace" looks good to me :-)

Hi Francesco,

"Disponível no Firefox Marketplace" seems to be good for everyone. I'll update the .lang file, we're still working with graphic designers these days.
Actually, given the case used in the original, it will be: DISPONÍVEL NO Firefox MARKETPLACE

File updated in r130111.
Can you please check the file for your locale and let us know if it's OK?
