User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:23.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/23.0 (Beta/Release) Build ID: 20130814063812 Steps to reproduce: Scroll page. For example http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/One_Direction Actual results: Strobe when scrolling (sometimes). If hardware acceleration is disabled, then less often. Video scrolling http://ubuntuone.com/2g9STTtSxuboGJveEjDToP (MP4, 18s) (Press Save as to downloading) I have internal video card Intel2000 in i5 processor. Expected results: Smooth like in other browsers
WFM. Can you test with a clean profile, please. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles Your MP4 video doesn't work, can you attach it to this bug, please.

On a clean profile is the same. Video attached in first post (please use "Save as", not "Open", otherwise Firefox will show error). In the video a bit exaggerated. The reality is much less and less frequently, BUT nonetheless has a strobe! It should not be. And it's annoying.

Do File I/O(HDD access) happen during scroll?
No. I think it's maybe because of system timer. I found a similar discussion on the Russian http://forum.mozilla-russia.org/viewtopic.php?id=57622 Translate http://translate.google.com/translate?sl=ru&tl=en&u=http://forum.mozilla-russia.org/viewtopic.php?id=57622 (and http://forum.mozilla-russia.org/viewtopic.php?id=55673 http://translate.google.com/translate?sl=ru&tl=en&u=http://forum.mozilla-russia.org/viewtopic.php?id=55673) In Opera 12 is always smooth scrolling, for example.
Please recheck this problem. I really like Firefox, and I see it as a transition from the Opera. But jerks scroll spoil everything. I already tried extensions "SmoothWheel" and "Yet Another Smooth Scrolling", but there too jerks (strobe) :(

Does the problem happen if you start Firefox in Safe Mode? See http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode

I checked on Linux Mint Cinnamon x86 and there was very smoothly, without strobe. Better than on Windows.

Try to update your GPU drivers, they are outdated.

I update from http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/detect?iid=dc_iduu to 9.17.10.3223 It did not help.
