Allowing users to upload custom plugins by pointing to a url of their plugin script.

With thimble allowing scripts, I see this as solvable.

MVP I was thinking just a new plugin draggable in the Events tab that has a + icon and if they click it they can paste in their script source. They then get a new plugin draggable at the bottom, it keeps the + icon, and the title is the title of the source file, so likely something.js.

It would push the add plugin draggable to the bottom.

This plugin would exist on remixes of that project, making a template with custom plugins as easy as a remix.

Things like a custom editor, or css file, imo, can be solved later, I am looking for MVP.
Awesome idea, though feel this is in next priority cycle (ie post Mozfest)
It's definitely solvable by having the Popcorn instance live in another domain and communicating with it via postMessage. That would be the only safe way to execute arbitrary JavaScript.
Hi,

What plugins are we talking about? Can you provide an example of one that would be used in this scenario.

Thanks,
Zak
I don't think we should do this at all. We should discuss. Brett, I'm putting this on you for a decision to get made. Please assign to someone or close.

Yes I think we should move towards simplifying our available plugins rather than proliferating.
