I think it would be better to show a popup notification with a "Launch" button than a XUL alert notification (that is also not "native").
We're already using popup notifications to ask the user if he wants to install an app and to show the progress during the installation, I feel it'd be more natural to show a popup notification also at the end of the installation.

We could also explain to the user how to launch the application (if we find a concise way to explain that).

Per bug 1238079, we're going to disable the desktop web runtime and remove it
from the codebase, so we won't fix these bugs in the integration between Firefox and the runtime.
