Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:27.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/27.0 (Beta/Release) Build ID: 20131001030204 Steps to reproduce: On my regular profile , when i go to wccftech.com , after the page loads completely, the system.exe process on my system starts using 50% CPU , and my whole computer feels sluggish. Steps i have tried : 1. Disable/Enable new cache backend 2. Disable/Enable HWA 3. Disable/Enable all extensions and addons. 4. Disable/Enable Windows defender. 5. Disable/Enable my anti-virus program (Kaspersky Internet Security 2013). Doing some reading, i found that system.exe usually hangs when a process tries to spawn many threads, or there is some network I/O problem, or windows defender is scanning some file. I disabled Windows defender, but no effect. This also happens on http://www.google.com/intl/en-gb/maps/about/behind-the-scenes/streetview/treks/galapagos-islands/ (where there are images of some animals on the page, and you can click on each animal to expand the image, and read the info given) This issue has started about a week ago. I could not reproduce it on a new profile. This issue does not occur on Chrome.

Confirmed Firefox runs sluggish after opening http://wccftech.com/ and http://www.google.com/intl/en-gb/maps/about/behind-the-scenes/streetview/treks/galapagos-islands/ in 27.0a2 (2013-11-04), Win 7 x64.

Open couple of articles from http://wccftech.com/ in new tabs and also http://www.google.com/intl/en-gb/maps/about/behind-the-scenes/streetview/treks/galapagos-islands/ in another tab

yes, that reproduces the issue. A point to note (which i mentioned in comment 1 also) is that (apart from the browser), the whole computer feels sluggish. Right click on the desktop is also sluggish, as well as opening of start menu. The FF process itself doesnot take that much CPU usage. So i am not sure its a imagelib issue.
