Example STR

1. In the e.me search bar, search for Education

Expected

The top marketplace search results for the category education should appear.

Actual

Marketplace search results do not appear.

Additional Notes

In general, I'm noticing that the marketplace integration in e.me search results only happens if the exact app name is used. That's a pretty broken search experience - users should be able to find marketplace results with common marketplace categories at the minimum. Better would be to include the search results with any term in general.

Including some marketplace team members on this bug, as the e.me team mentioned this could potentially be a problem on marketplace's API.
I don't think this has anything to do with the marketplace API, but is related to e.me search engine.
This is totally an e.me engine issue.

Caitlin, as discussed on our last meet, this is dependent on E.me getting the associated tags (keywords) from the Marketplace API dump. (We got a general "ok" from the Marketplace API developer)

What API developer was that? The only open e.me request I know if is bug 930593 which is about adding tags to the dumps and there is a single tag in our entire database so I don't think that is related to this.

To make sense as an app search we think searches from the Homescreen should map to results from Marketplace as well as e.me apps. Here is the result from typing "social" into the search bar. The next attachment shows the Marketplace result for the same term.

Ran - I'm not sure what the issues are for you, but this seems to work fine as a webactivities. Still having problems on your end?

But Wil, Chris' question was unrelated to the bug. (or did I miss something?)
This issue is still relevant.

My mistake, thought you were saying the bug was done. Reopening

Consider closing this bug as E.me won't display marketplace results in v1.4, instead the Rocketbar search app will do so directly.
