Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux i686; rv:24.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/24.0 (Beta/Release)
Build ID: 20130911160237

Steps to reproduce:

Xubuntu 12.04, thunderbird 24.1.0

Screensaver goes off, enter password to unlock screen, two caldav network calendars have become unavailable and cannot be made available again.

Actual results:

Network calendars became unresponsive (grayed out, "unavailable" icon, reactivating via w/ the "switch this calendar on" checkbox initially shows calendar, then immediately it inactivates again).

This is doubly troubling as these two calendars have offline support selected (which doesn't appear to do anything).

Workaround: restart thunderbird, everything comes back.

This appears to be related to xscreensaver activating. Note, however, that there is no power management involved -- the screen is merely being locked and going blank.

Expected results:

Screensaver (or even suspending the computer) should allow lightning to immediately reconnect to network calendars. Network calendars that become inactivated due to network loss but have _offline support_ indicated should still be available.
Does the screensaver disconnect the network when activated? Could you enable calendar.debug.log and calendar.debug.log.verbose in the advanced config editor (Options > Advanced > General > Config Editor) and show us some logs about what is happening when you do this?

What caldav server are you using?
