Steps to reproduce:

open fm radio app
start playing


Actual results:

no sound coming


Expected results:

it should play radio and we should hear the sound. I can't even hear the radio noise (I can play music from sd card, so sound is working)
It is ZTE Open and image flashed from b2g build from a few days back. (2013-11-19 - 41c3fd86).

I tested and built image from the version as below and the FMRadio is working.

Gecko: HG changeset:   157281:250bb14d76d4
Gaia: commit 7ddeda88ed4334d1b40c2724613a2ce3c81c9f80
I built a new version today (2013-11-29 07:19:54 6f4b4069) and fm radio is still broken. @marco, which device are you testing with?

It was working with 1.0.

I'm building the master branch with ./config.sh inari;build.sh from B2G repo.

The device I used is unagi.

unagi is not supported for 1.3

Also to note, you should update to 1.1 inari.
So FM radio will never be supported on inari devices with 1.3?

We need the appropriate drivers for 1.3 inari which we don't have at this moment in time for 1.3

Is this a planned feature or should I go back to an older version to get fm radio working on my ZTE Open?

I have no idea what the plans are for ZTE Open and 1.3.  That is up to ZTE, which we are waiting to hear from in regards to what they are going to do for 1.3 or for 1.2 for that matter.

Why do you need a new driver for every release? Won't driver used in 1.1 work in 1.3?

Because we need the drivers/hardware support to support the software changes.
Old drivers/old configurations might not work with the software changes that have occurred.

Can this be reopened or status changed to won't fix? I cannot play fm radio and it cannot be invalid.

Until they have plans for the release of 1.3 on the ZTE device, it's officially unsupported.
