Steps to reproduce:

1. Copy the URL of a file for which the server does not specify the size, for example: https://tbpl.mozilla.org/php/getParsedLog.php?id=30834886&tree=Mozilla-Central&full=1
2. Open the Downloads Panel and paste the URL with CTRL-V.

Expected:
The download size displayed by Firefox is the same as the size on the disk or at least close enough.

Actual:
The download size displayed by Firefox is 660kb and the size on the disk is 22Mb.

I believe this will rely on bug 941063 being fixed which will not happen in the FF26 timeframe as we are about to go to release so marking this for FF27 and later.

I'll not be able to work on this before next week's merge, but probably I can get to this before the holidays. In that case we can have the fix ready for an early beta.

Maybe Neil or Felipe have some time earlier, I'll comment on bug 941063 so that the work can be taken by whoever among us becomes available.

Given we are close to final beta wontfixing this per https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=941063#c3 and looking for a fix in Fx28.

As mentioned in bug 941063, this has been around a while and is an issue in very few download circumstances, due to that we will not consider this a release-blocking bug to track.  Low risk uplift nominations considered when a fix is available.
