i had a bookmark which was supposed to notify me of changes to the above URL. in
my proxy logs, i see continual connections to the following URL instead:

997373925.568 835 127.0.0.1 TCP_MISS/200 214 HEAD
http://groups.google.com/groups? - DIRECT/216.239.35.119 text/html

it looks like the bookmark is being parsed incorrectly.
Build ID: 2001080901
Seems to be the same issue reported in bug 93234.
okay this is really a dupe of bug 93234 bt i'm going to do it the other way
around to save me having to rewrite the desription/summary. Since this was found
independently by two different testers who came to the same conclusion (the '?'
culprit) from different directions I'm going to go ahead and mark this confirmed
and change OS to PC/All. One day I or someone can confirm this happens on the
mac too(as is my suspicion).

i think this should be nominated a mozilla1.0 bug, since this breaks bookmark
notification on any dynamically generated page that relies on the querystring
(which is a major percentage of the internet these days). if bookmark
notification is to be a feature that is enable in 1.0, this should be a
mozilla1.0 bug.
Paul Chen is now taking Bookmarks bugs. For your convenience, you can filter
email notifications caused by this by searching for 'ilikegoats'.
