In the note, we should link users to /profile/edit where they will soon be able to opt-in to the newsletter.
The newsletter option will be presented as part of the Join the Developer Program! CTA, where the newsletter subscription is one of the benefits - i.e. no separate call to just sign up for the newsletter.

Does that mean the MDP page needs no changes then?

I think Robert would like us to link to the profile page. See comment 0.
Where, though? I don't have any actual information here. I don't know what if anything actually needs doing on the MDP page itself because there's been back and forth discussion about putting newsletter signup here and there.

What text are we looking to add? In a box? CTA? Footnote? In a header somewhere? Just saying "add a note" doesn't help. :)
Just recording what we discussed in IRC.

I know that we want to add a link to the "edit profile" page, but I have no further information on where that link should appear or what the surrounding copy should be. Robert would be the person to ask about that.

Sorry if it has been unclear. From the MDP page it's just a link from the top box to sign up for the Program. In the sign-up page (outlined in bug 947597 as well with wording) we want to have the option for signing up for the newsletter.

If you already have an account, there should be a checkbox in Edit your account which is getting the newsletter.

I.e. the text in the top left box on the MDP page has the correct text and link already: "Sign up for the Developer Program! You will get a membership, be able to subscribe to our newsletter and get access to features over time as we roll them out."

So it's just about updating the other pages in the flow.
OK, so this isn't a content bug but something for... who? Not sure. I think this needs to be groovecoder's?

Working this in https://github.com/mozilla/kuma/pull/1736 as part of bug 936123. Will close both when it lands.
Luke, can we move the subscription option to the top of the Edit account page (where the beta checkbox is)?

I had an idea to float it in the top-right of the edit profile page main content. Would that be okay?

Yep! We have a pull request in for the following UI. If something else would work better, just let us know and we could easily make that change.

Yes, definitely - looks great!

Glad to hear it! My guess is that these improvements will be in by the end of the week.
Guess I was off by one business day, but the edit profile improvements are now live!
