Details
Bug 675823, which happens to be linked to the sync2sm meta bug but was changed much more than just the below, and bug 689311 renamed "Add a Device" to "Pair a Device" for Firefox. Now in SM when you set up Sync and click Connect on the first page of the wizard, the next screen ("Add a Device") says: 'To activate, go to Sync Preferences/Options on your other device and select "Add a Device".' The above is problematic now for multiple reasons: 1. In SM (with an already set up Sync account), said option is actually a menu entry of a drop-down called "Manage Account". 2. In FF, the option is called "Pair a device" and is a link placed below the "Manage Account" drop-down. 3. Only FF differentiates between "Preferences" (used on Linux and Mac) and "Options" (used on Windows). Suggested actions to take on our side: 1. Rename "Add a Device" to "Pair a Device". 2. Rephrase the above mentioned sentence, e.g.: 'To activate, go to Preferences/Options on your other device, switch to the Sync category and select "Pair a Device" (below "Manage Account").' That would cover both SM and FF since "below" could either be interpreted as "among its options" (SM case) or "vertically placed lower" (FF case). Opinions? [I don't think we need to turn the menu entry into a link just because FF has it that way.]

This is in case you want to sync FF with SM? In that case I would go for a separate "Pair a device" link. (I don't think "Pair a device" makes sense as an action on the "Manage Account" menu in the way that "Add a Device" does.)
[If we weren't worried about syncing Firefox with SeaMonkey then we would just tweak the string to refer to SeaMonkey's preferences and "Manage Account" menu.)

I agree with Neil on this and it does depend on whether we're expecting users to sync between Firefox and SeaMonkey.
