For bug 729736, a new preferences was added called network.allow-experiments that allowed for doing some testing of SPDY in prerelease builds.

For bug 796192, this preference was used again to do some pipelining testing.

If this preference is intended for prerelease builds only, it should be set to false in release builds, even if it is not used right now because the tests are turned off.

Also, it needs to be documented somewhere, because it's kind of unsettling to see a preference that says that network experiments are being conducted.
It is not necessarily limited to pre-release builds.

It still needs to be documented.

Enterprises don't like the notion that their browser is being experimented on.

And if you're debugging network problems, it would be nice to know that you're network options could be random.
