As http://www.ds.fh-koeln.de/~marian/mozilla_bugs/pop3auth_1.gif shows, I have a
mail account labeled "marian@syntax-design.de". When I try to connect to this
account and check mail, I get the dialog "Enter your password for
marian@194.64.31.16".

To me the two labels seem not to be related to each other. In my opinion it
would make sence to send this message:

"Please enter your password for the account marian@syntax-design.de."

In order to give more verbose information, the text could also contain:

"user name: marian
server address: 194.64.31.16"
marking NEW.
