Details

Steps to reproduce problem:
1. Create a new profile
2. Change the mailnews window preference to the alternate layout
3. Open mailnews (you can cancel the account wizard)
4. Hide the outliner columns (unread, total)

Actual results: Folder size changes

Expected results: Folder size does not change
N.B. If you move the splitter it forces the width and doesn't show the problem.
I can't reproduce this with a 08/20 build on win2k; with either the case of
cancelling out the account manager (no mail profile == blank folder pane),
or with creating and connecting to an IMAP server (folder pane has folders),
when I hide Unread and Total, there is no change in the folder pane width.

(/me looks at the windows 95 platform field, and wonders if this is a
side-effect of win95 and font measurement issues [encore]).
Well I was able to duplicate this bug using a completely fresh install of build
2001081703 on Windows 2000... but only for the folder outliner, the thread
outliner doesn't appear to be affected. Screenshots available for the interested.
