User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:26.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/26.0 (Beta/Release) Build ID: 20131205075310 Steps to reproduce: Linked pptx and xlsx files on my websites (run on various versions of wordpress) Actual results: After clicking on the link, browser opened new tab where it displayed the file in txt format (mess of asci characters). When tried to rightclick and "save as" the file saved as txt. Expected results: Dialog box offering open/save as should appear and offer the file in proper (pptx, xlsx) format. When tried with old ms office formats (xls, ppt), everything works fine. Also when tried on other browsers, pptx and xlsx files work as they should,

I fail to reproduce it. Can you re-produce it while using firefox on safe mode[1]. Or can you try to produce it on latest beta, aurora or nightly build? [1]https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode

Incomplete. No valid steps to reproduce, no reply from reporter. Such problems are almost certainly caused by the server incorrectly sending Content-Type: text/plain. If the issue persists, please provide example download links. https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Bug_writing_guidelines The following works for me, since the server is properly configured: http://file-sample.com/xlsx/
