In 2013, the slogan to launch Firefox OS was "Blaze your own path". In 2014, the new slogan is going to be "Unleash the future" The target audience is the industry, that will replace the main title on the https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/partners page and will also be used on the home page in a promo, in a tabzilla promo and on banners and printed material. I am CCing Matej in case you have any doubt translating this slogan into your language. If your translation differs from the original English slogan, please document the reason here. Although this slogan is already kind of public (presented on air.mozilla.org and on our demo servers for MWC and git/svn), I am marking this bug as confidential so as to not spread the work too much about it before MWC in two weeks and keep the line fresh for the launch. Please provide your translation in this bug, I will store it for reference in this repo: https://svn.mozilla.org/projects/granary/slogans/sr/firefoxos.lang Thanks Pascal

Hi, Pascal. Here are the translations for "Unleash the future": sr-cyril: Ослободите будућност sr-latin: Oslobodite budućnost

Aleksandra, can you explain what these slogans mean? Is it a literal translation?

It's something like "Free the future". The literal meaning of "unleash" doesn't fit very well. I hope that's not a problem.

(In reply to Aleksandra Uzelac from comment #4) > It's something like "Free the future". The literal meaning of "unleash" > doesn't fit very well. I hope that's not a problem. No problem, it's just to understand the meaning. We have a similar problem in Italian to be honest ;-)

How does this compare to "Be the future," which we'll still be using for a developer audience. This should feel distinct from that. It should be passionate, empowering and inspiring. It should communicate to our partners that they can do more, do greater things with Firefox OS. There's a new, exciting future coming for mobile and Firefox OS will let them be part of it.

Well, "unleash" in our language is best translated as "free", but as in "let something be free". There are not many variations on that... Also, I see that "Be the future" was already translated as "Budite deo budućnosti" which means "Be a part of the future". I guess that doesn't fit very well, does it? So maybe that should be changed to "Budite budućnost" so that it means what the slogan says.
