Reproducible: 100%

STR:
1) In FTU tap "Next" in first screen.
2) In "PIN request" screen, user inserts *invalid* PIN and tap "Done".
3) In "PIN request" screen, user taps "Skip" (NOT insert other PIN).
4) User finishes FTU.
5) Tap in Messages or Dialer aplication and see again "PIN request" screen.

Actual result:
User can see "PIN resquest" screen but NOT specified number or retries

Expected result:
User can see "PIN resquest" screen and *specified number or retries*

Same behavior in case of inserting a wrong PIN code and restarting the device, the next time "Enter SIM PIN" screen appears there is no information about the number of retries left for the PIN code. ni to UX to know their PoV here. Thanks!

I don't see why UX needs to chime in here. If this isn't working, then it's a regression. It's also a certification blocker if it's not working, as QC has blocked CS on this historically for this issue not working.

I'm adding qawanted to see if we can reproduce on a 1.4 device with Open C & Buri.

Hi,

The warning message is appearing once you introduce a wrong PIN code, the issue raised here is that if you entered a wrong PIN and then skip, the next time you see "Enter SIM PIN" screen, it doesn't show specific information about the number of retries left for the PIN (but the generic "Enter SIM PIN" screen) till you introduce a new value in case OK SIM in unlocked in case KO it will show the number of retries or PUK code screen

It is also occurring on today's (4/23) build:

Guys, isn't this the same thing we went over in bug 987578? Until MozRIL supports getCardLockRetryCount (bug 974606), we will not see retry count when first seeing the SIM Pin screen. When we initially fixed this issue, we had to have QC validate it was working (bug 966571 comment 33). Loli, have you obtained a RIL that supports getCardLockRetryCount, or is this the same thing as bug 987578?
