Did you install in a clean directory or over a previous install?
Comments from reporter: At first I installed over previous version. Then I uninstalled mozilla and reinstalled. No difference, same error. I am reluctant to wipe directories as I do not wish to lose bookmarks and other preferences. If uninstalling is insufficient, please suggest what else you recommend I do.
Mannie, Bookmarks and so on are all stored in yout profile. You can delete Mozilla's install directory with no fear.
Comments from reporter: I uninstalled and then removed mozilla.org directory (and all subdirectories). Problem is now fixed. I am running build 2001091803. ------------------------------------ Resolving invalid. The release notes clearly say to install into a clean dir precisely to avoid these sort of crashes.
