From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:0.9.4) Gecko/20010913
BuildID: 2001091311
I used the rpm -rebuild mozilla-0.9.4-2-src.rpm to create a fresh rpm to update
my copy of Mozilla 0.9.3 on my Linux-Mandrake 8.0 machine, which I have all of
the current updates from MandrakeSoft. After it compiled new RPMs out of the
SRPMs, I tried to install them only to get dependency problems:
errir: failed dependencies:
mozilla = 8.0 is neede by mozilla-irc-0.8-7mdk
I tried the already compiled i386 RPMs for RedHat 7.X from your site and I found
the same dependencie problems. I then forced a install of 0.9.4 sources I built
over my 0.9.3 installation. It now causes mozilla to crash every time try and
run it. I am currently running rpm version 4.0.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Download the source RPMS for RedHat 7.X for Mozilla 0.9.4
2. rpm -rebuild mozilla-0.9.4-2-src.rpm
3. cd /usr/src/RPM/RPMS/i686/rpm -Uvh mozilla*.rpm
The problem will then occur with the dependencies
4. rpm --install --force mozilla*.rpm
This will cause mozilla to crash every time it is executed.
Actual Results: error: failed dependencies:
mozilla = 0.8 is needed by mozilla-irc-0.8-7mdk
-For the problem after step 3
Mozilla constantly crashes and stops running when executed.
-For the problem after step 4
Expected Results: Mozilla should have installed and worked flawlessly.
I'm running Linux Mandrake 8.0 with all the Update RPMS from MandrakeSoft
installed. I'm running jdk1.3.1_01 instead of Kaffe that comes with
LinuxMandrake. Different dependency problems are created if you try and install
each individual RPM that the SRPMs create, but all of the dependency problems
are unexpectedly for Mozilla 8.0.
