Git bisect shows bb724cde0e8ee647d237edc43515cc65ef4fc6b4 as the culprit. What handsome devil made those changes!?
Investigating.

The 'old style' scrollbars show up in OS X when you have a mouse plugged in, with the magic-sometimes-invisible scrollbars when you have a touchpad only.
The horizontal scroll bar shouldn't be showing though. I'll have a fix for that soon.
