100463 - @Home site (Flash / Shockwave) crashes Fizzilla so badly that OS X freezes

Platform: PowerBook G3/300/192Mb/48Gb, MacOS X 10.0.4
Fizzilla Build: 2001090721

This bug is being sent to Mozilla.org & Apple, since I'm not sure where this is
coming from.

1) Launch Mozilla.

2) Go to the following URL.

http://www.home.com/index_flash.html

What happens: The flash movie begins to load, then the entire machine freezes so
bad that the sound starts looping and the mouse totally freezes.

can you try removing the flash plugin and see if it still crashes?

I removed the plugin, and went back to that page. Moz did not crash. I tried
surfing the non-Flash version of the site, and Moz did not crash.

Is anyone able to confirm this bug with a similar OS X installation?

Adam,

Does this happen in IE ? Which version of the flash plug-in do you have ? There
was a known issue with the flash plug-in and this page reported earlier. The
problem was related to the flash plug-in. Macromedia updated their plug-in to
5.0r58 which resolved this problem.

Chris,

Thanks for the info. After upgrading to 5.0r58 this problem is gone. I'm sending
this in to Apple, because Macromedia's site says that Apple's Software Update
should have updated this, but it didn't.
